KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia-China Summit 2024 (MCS 2024), set to be held here from Dec 17-19, has secured strong backing from prominent sponsors and partners.

Their support has helped position MCS 2024, which is organised by Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn Bhd in association with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), as a leading platform for fostering trade, investment and innovation.

In a statement today, MATRADE chairman Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican said the sponsors and strategic partners have been instrumental in positioning the summit as a premier platform for international collaboration, reinforcing Malaysia's role as a leading destination for business events and a gateway to ASEAN’s thriving economic landscape.

"We are grateful to all our sponsors and strategic partners whose support underlines the significance and magnitude of this summit," he said.

MCS 2024's official sponsors are Huawei Technologies Malaysia (Gold Sponsor), Petronas (Silver Sponsor), and Corporate Sponsors Berjaya Food Bhd and DSR Taiko Bhd (Corporate Sponsors).

The summit, one of the programmes organised to commemorate the golden anniversary of Malaysia-China bilateral ties, is also supported by the Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), an agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.

Other partners include official airline AirAsia, official venue the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), and official media partners Bernama, Star Media Group and Sin Chew Daily.

Qube Integrated Malaysia executive chairman Richard Teo, who is also the MCS 2024 organising chair, described the summit as a meeting ground for the exchange of ideas and cultures as well as knowledge sharing, with the aim of inspiring the next generation of business and thought leaders who will continue to shape ASEAN-China relations.

“The involvement of our sponsors and strategic partners is important to realise this bold vision.

"The strong support from these leading corporations reflects the private sector’s commitment to enhancing regional collaboration and economic growth,” he said.

MCS 2024, themed "Prosperity Beyond 50", will feature a three-day International Trade and Investment Expo, a two-day Leadership Conference, and a series of specially curated forums.

"These programmes will spotlight over 20 key sectors, including renewable energy, digital technology, electric mobility, and advanced manufacturing," the statement said.

The expo will also feature multi-sectoral exhibitors from Malaysia and China showcasing cutting-edge technologies and innovations.

To maximise trade outcomes of the summit, MATRADE will organise business-matching sessions under its International Sourcing Programme (INSP), connecting about 200 Malaysian exporters with close to 100 foreign buyers from 12 countries through a total of 610 business meetings at MCS 2024.

MCS 2024 is anchored by five thematic pillars, each reflecting future-focused industries: Future Tech, Future Growth, Future Mobility and Connectivity, Future Experience and Knowledge, and Future Opportunity.
