Ukrainian Military Attacked Russia's Belgorod Region 45 Times Over Past Day – Governor

MOSCOW, Dec 16 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- The Ukrainian military launched 30 munitions and 15 drones towards the western Russian region of Belgorod over the past day, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on Monday, adding that casualties were avoided, reported Sputnik. 

"In the Borisovsky district, the villages of Gruzskoe and Berezovka were attacked by three drones, with no consequences. In the Volokonovsky district, Staryi Khutor and Shakhovka were attacked by two drones, one of which was shot down by the air defence. There was no destruction. The villages of Bezymeno and Spodariushino in the Grayvoronsky municipal district were shelled twice using eight munitions and an FPV drone," Gladkov said on Telegram.

Further five villages in the Belgorod region were attacked by Ukrainian troops using 16 munitions and five drones. The village of Demidovka in the Krasnoyaruzhsky district was attacked by one drone, while two villages in the Shebekinsky district were attacked by six munitions and three drones, the official added.

Russia's Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions, bordering Ukraine, have been under a counterterrorism operation regime to ensure the safety of citizens.
