KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 18 (Bernama) -- Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) FC thrashed Kelantan Darul Naim (KDN) 5-0, with Ifedayo Olusegun emerging as a hat-trick hero in the Super League match at the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium here tonight.
The Nigerian-born striker showcased his prowess by scoring all three goals in the first half before Muhammad Shahrel Fikri Md Fauzi added two more in the second half.
The home side, led by P Maniam, started strongly, opening the scoring in the fifth minute through Ifedayo’s powerful strike. He doubled the lead with a header in the 32nd minute.
In the 39th minute, Ifedayo dazzled again with a long-range effort for PDRM’s third goal. However, he received a red card for colliding with a KDN player during a goal attempt.
Despite being reduced to 10 men in the second half, PDRM remained dominant, with Muhammad Shahrel scoring the fourth goal in the 66th minute.
Sang Saka Biru continued their scoring spree as Muhammad Shahrel struck again five minutes later, sealing a 5-0 victory.
The result saw PDRM climb from sixth to fifth place with 21 points, while KDN remained second from the bottom with seven points.
Meanwhile, at the Darul Aman Stadium in Kedah, Kedah Darul Aman (KDA) FC secured all three points by defeating Penang FC 1-0.
Despite missing several key players, Kedah proved their mettle with Sukhrob Nurulloev scoring in the 10th minute. Sukhrob capitalised on a header from Marlos Gordic, skilfully evading Penang FC goalkeeper Sikh Izhan Nazreel before slamming the ball into the net.
KDA now sit in ninth place with 17 points, while Penang occupy the eleventh spot with 14 points.
