PSRA 2024 Exam: Better Performance Achieved, Says JAIS

SHAH ALAM, Dec 19 (Bernama) -- The pass rate for the 2024 Penilaian Sekolah Rendah Agama (PSRA) examination in Selangor increased by 0.9 per cent, reaching 89.4 per cent, compared to 88.5 per cent last year.

Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) director Datuk Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad said 9,178 candidates, or 20.5 per cent, earned Mumtaz (excellent), 14,865 scored Jayyid Jiddan (very good), and 9,102 candidates, or 20.3 per cent, secured Jayyid (good) grades.

“A total of 6,904 candidates (15.4 per cent), obtained the Maqbul (pass) grade, while 4,749 candidates, representing 10.6 per cent, received the Musaadah (needs guidance) grade,” he said. 

He said this during a press conference to announce the results of the 2024M/1446H PSRA, Sijil Menengah Agama (SMA), Sijil Menengah Agama Tahfiz Al-Quran (SMATQ), Sijil Menengah Agama Tahfiz Al-Quran KBT (SMATQKBT), Sijil Menengah Agama Turath dan Dakwah (SMATD) and Sijil KAFA Menengah (SKM) examinations here today.

According to him, a total of 45,214 candidates registered for the PSRA this year, with 44,799 candidates, or 99.08 per cent, attending the examination.

Meanwhile, Mohd Shahzihan said the SMATQ, SMATQKBT, and SMATD examinations for 2024 saw a 100 per cent pass rate, while the SMA and SKM examinations achieved pass rates of 99.6 per cent and 99.5 per cent, respectively.

“Overall, this year’s performance shows significant improvement as a result of the ongoing efforts of candidates, parents, schools, teachers, and administrators.

“I would like to extend my congratulations to all those who achieved excellence in the PSRA, SMA, SMATQ, SMATQKBT, SMATD, and SKM examinations in 2024,” he said.

All the examinations are conducted by JAIS for their religious schools, including private institutions.
