MOSCOW, Dec 26 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- Another black box was found at the site of the plane crash near Aktau, the transport prosecutor of Kazakstan's Mangystau Region, Abylaibek Ordabaev, said on Thursday, according to Sputnik/RIA Novosti news agency.
An Azerbaijan Airlines Embraer 190 plane flying from Baku to Russia’s Grozny crashed on the morning of December 25 near the city of Aktau in western Kazakhstan. According to Russia's Federal Agency for Air Transport (Rosaviatsiya), after the plane collided with birds, the captain of the plane decided to divert to an alternate airfield in Aktau. The airline said 62 passengers and five crew members were on board. Kazakhstan's emergencies ministry said 29 people survived in the crash.
"Two flight recorders have been found and will be handed over to the Aviation Accidents and Incidents investigation Division. And will then be examined," Ordabaev said, as quoted by the Kazinform news agency.
Law enforcement agencies of Russia and Azerbaijan will participate in the investigation of the plane crash, the report added.
