KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 28 (Bernama) -- The Muaythai Rentap Pandan Madani Championship 2024, now in its third edition, has gained notable attention, attracting not only local exponents but also participants from overseas.
According to event organiser Fairul Ezly Ramli, this year’s championship includes competitors from Afghanistan, Iran, and Cambodia, all vying for five coveted championship belts.
“This year marks a significant evolution of the tournament compared to previous editions, which were held behind closed doors. We’re proud to welcome international exponents to elevate the level of competition,” he told a press conference here today.
The event will feature 92 participants, including 80 amateur fighters and 12 professionals, making it one of the largest editions yet.
One of the competitors, Muhammad Afif Farhan Mohd Fazli, a 19-year-old Muaythai athlete from Hallofight Lab, is set to compete in his sixth professional bout and aims to claim his first championship belt.
“I’ve been training rigorously for this tournament and am determined to make all the effort and sacrifices during training worthwhile. I hope to achieve victory in tomorrow’s fight,” he shared.
The Muaythai Rentap Pandan Madani Championship 2024 will take place tomorrow at the Muhibbah Complex, Taman Nirwana, Ampang, and will be officiated by the Political Secretary to the Minister of Finance, Kamil Abdul Munim.
