Communications Ministry Adopts Musyawarah Concept To Boost Productivity

PUTRAJAYA, Jan 3 (Bernama) -- The Communications Ministry is adopting the concept of ‘musyawarah’ (consultation) to gather insights and feedback from all levels, aligning with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s emphasis on boosting productivity across the public sector.

Minister Fahmi Fadzil said he had requested secretary-general Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa to explore ways to implement the concept within the ministry.

“I take the Prime Minister's advice as a call to enhance productivity --not only through self-reflection but also by fostering consultation and gathering input and feedback from every member of the team.

“For the Communications Ministry, the secretary-general will examine what can be done so that even at the smallest unit in any department, quality and productivity can be reviewed and improved,” he told reporters after attending the live broadcast of the Prime Minister’s 2025 message, with the Communications Ministry staff here today.

Also present were Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching, Mohamad Fauzi, Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) chief executive officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin and Bernama editor-in-chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj.

Meanwhile, Fahmi said the Prime Minister’s message for the civil service to continue being empowered served as a strong reminder for civil servants to consistently strive to enhance their productivity.

“This serves as a timely reminder that we should never become complacent or consider our achievements as sufficient. Instead, we must continuously reflect, identify areas for improvement, and strive to overcome weaknesses and address any shortcomings.

“We must also remember to acknowledge and express gratitude for what we have successfully accomplished,” he added.
