Pahang To Host Makmur CNY Sale Across 11 Districts

KUANTAN, Jan 18 (Bernama) -- The Pahang government will organise the Makmur Chinese New Year 2025 Sales Programme in 11 districts to assist residents, particularly those in the B40 group, in preparing for the festive season.

State Consumer Affairs and Human Resources Committee chairman Sim Chon Siang said the six-day programme, beginning Monday, would offer essential goods at prices lower than the market rate.

He said the initiative is part of the state government’s proactive efforts to address the rising cost of living, complementing the Rahmah MADANI Sales programme organised by the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry.

“During the tabling of the state budget 2025, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail announced an allocation of RM2.52 million for the Festive Cluster Makmur Sales Programme.

“Of this amount, RM600,000 has been set aside for the Makmur Chinese New Year 2025 Sales Programme, as approved during the state executive council meeting on Jan 15,” he said in a statement today.

The programme will be held on Jan 20-21 and Jan 23-26 at selected supermarkets, including Pasar Raya Jimat in Brinchang, TF Value-Mart on Jalan Tras in Bentong 2, BS Freshmart in Rompin, and Fresh Choice in Pekan.
