MANJUNG, Jan 27 (Bernama) -- Perak FC coach Yusri Che Lah is in seventh heaven after watching his side trounce Kelantan Darul Naim FC (KDN FC) 7-0 in their Super League match at the Manjung Municipal Council Stadium last night.
Clayton Da Silva struck four times while skipper Luciano Guaycochea, Adilet Kanybekov and Tommy Mawat Bada chipped in with one apiece as they tore the East Coast side apart to help Perak move up to three spots to fifth in the 13-team Super League standings with 22 points after 18 matches.
"Congratulations to the players for not conceding and for finding the back of the net seven times.
"I hope we can maintain this momentum as we have several tough and crucial matches ahead,” he told the post-match press conference last night.
Yusri said their immediate concern will be to focus on their next two matches, against Kuching City FC at the State Stadium in Kuching on Feb 7 and domestic giants Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) on Feb 27.
"We are nearing the end of the league season, so the players must make sure they stay fit and fight till the end in every match to make sure we can get all three points each time,” he said.
Meanwhile, KDN FC assistant head coach Rezal Zambery Yahya praised his men for giving their best despite the team facing several issues.
"I want to thank my players for their willingness to come to Manjung to play although I only met them a day before the game.
"I must admit that the players are not in the best of shape as they have not trained together for quite some time. Up against a good team like Perak, we tried to put up a fight but it is what it is,” he said.
