Hindustan Zinc Clocks Q3 With Highest Ever Revenue, Profit And Metal Production

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 3 (Bernama) -- India-based Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL), the integrated zinc and silver producer, has recorded its highest-ever nine months mined and refined metal production at 784 karat (kt) and 783 kt, respectively.

In a statement, the company reported its results for the third quarter (Q3) and nine months ended Dec 31, 2024, with Q3 revenue reaching US$1,020 million, reflecting an 18  per cent increase compared to the previous year. (US$1=RM4.47)

The company’s third quarter earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) also reached a historic high of US$537 million, up 28 per cent, with an industry-leading EBITDA margin of approximately 53 per cent, nearly a 400 basis point increase year-on-year.

In addition, it also recorded its highest profit after tax (PAT) in the past nine quarters of US$317 million, up 32 per cent year on year, driven by metal volume and cost reduction.

The cost of production (COP) for the quarter also hit its lowest point in the past 15 quarters at US$1,041 per metric tonne. With a market capitalisation of US$22 billion, Hindustan Zinc continues to be one of India’s largest metal companies, delivering shareholder returns of approximately US$2.10 per share.

A Vedanta Group company and supplying to over 40 countries globally, Hindustan Zinc has been recognised as the world’s most sustainable company in the metals and mining category by the S&P Global CSA 2024.
