KOTA BHARU, Feb 7 (Bernama) -- Kelantan Darul Naim FC (KDN FC) will start to use the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium for their Super League matches again now that renovation works have been completed, thanks to the Federal allocation.
Kelantan Youth, Sports, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Community Unity Committee chairman Zamakhshari Muhamad said the stadium, which had been under renovation since August last year, will host its first Super League match tonight when KDN FC entertain Penang FC.
“For this year, several toilets near the spectator entrance will be upgraded using the stadium’s allocation. This upgrade is expected to start in May at a cost of RM500,000,” he said.
Zamakhshari added that refurbishment of the restrooms is important to accommodate the needs of some 18,000 spectators who attend football matches and various other programmes at the stadium.
“The current state of the toilets is quite poor and unsavoury for spectators. Therefore, this upgrading effort is most necessary for comfort,” he said.
Previously, the media reported that renovation work at the stadium included the installation of drains and pipes as well as repairing the pitch.
