PADANG RENGAS, Feb 9 (Bernama) -- Former Malaysian Ambassador to the United States, Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz had carried out his duties well throughout his two-year tenure in Washington, said Finance Minister’s Political Secretary Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim.
Muhammad Kamil said bilateral relationship between Malaysia and the US in trade and investment has improved throughout the period.
"New investments, including from Google, for example, that has entered the country, prove that Malaysia remains with the existing policies even though we have a clear stance on certain matters, especially regarding Israel's atrocities against the Palestinians and Gaza.
"In fact, I believe that this good relationship will continue to be strengthened in the future in accordance with the policies set by the government," he said at a press conference after the Sumbangan Kasih Madani Back to School 2025 programme at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Simpang Beluru here today.
Mohamed Nazri began his post as Malaysia's Ambassador to the US on Feb 9, 2023 and according to a Foreign Ministry statement, the selection was based on his extensive experience as a member of the country's administration.
Yesterday, the media reported that Mohamed Nazri confirmed that his contract as Malaysia's Ambassador to the US had expired after two years in Washington.
