KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 14 (Bernama) -- In celebration of its 13th anniversary, Yayasan Peneraju, an agency under the Ministry of Economy, is offering a 30 per cent discount on outstanding education loan balances for beneficiaries and alumni who make full payments from today until April 30 this year.
In a statement, it said payments can be made via the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) Account 2 or in cash.
Yayasan Peneraju chief executive officer Ibrahim Sani said the initiative was introduced to show appreciation for beneficiaries and alumni who have contributed to society.
“We are pleased to introduce this campaign as a way to reward our beneficiaries and alumni for their continued contributions to society. By offering this discount, we hope to provide them with a financially prudent option to clear their education loans.
“We intend to plough back these repayment funds to fuel further growth of Yayasan Peneraju. These funds will be used to expand our education financing packages, allowing us to benefit more Bumiputera talents than we could have achieved without the repayment of these loans,” the statement read.
Since its inception in 2012, Yayasan Peneraju has empowered over 75,000 Bumiputera individuals, equipping them to thrive in an ever-evolving global landscape.
According to the statement, applications for the Peneraju Technology programmes have increased fivefold since their introduction in 2021, reflecting its commitment to equipping the workforce for the digital era.
“The year 2024 marked a standout year for Yayasan Peneraju, with significant accomplishments reflecting the organisation’s unwavering dedication to providing educational opportunities and developing Bumiputera talents.
“Key initiatives, including the YP Talent Bank platform and the YP Exchange programme, have contributed to greater career opportunities and enhanced collaboration within the ecosystems,” it said.
This year, Yayasan Peneraju aims to expand its Peneraju Alumni network and continue efforts under the Ministry of Economy’s Bumiputera mandate, including forming new partnerships and integrating technologies such as artificial intelligence.
Yayasan Peneraju also reiterated its commitment to shaping a skilled, resilient Bumiputera workforce and contributing to advancing Malaysia’s future while appreciating the continued support of its talents, alumni and partners.
