ASEAN Committee Continues To Offer Assistance To The Needy In Czech Republic

PRAGUE, Feb 14 (Bernama-VNA) -- The ASEAN Committee in Prague (ACP), the Czech Republic, on February 13 donated food supplies to the Czech Federation of Food Banks, which will distribute them to people in need, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported.

This initiative was launched during the COVID-19 pandemic and has become a regular activity of the ACP.

This year marks the fifth consecutive year that the ACP has contributed food donations to support disadvantaged communities.

As the current chair of the ACP, Thailand led this year’s charity event. The Thai Ambassador, along with the Ambassadors of Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines and Vietnam, handed over essential food and foodstuffs to representatives of the food bank.

These donations will soon be distributed to the needy in the Czech Republic, helping them to overcome difficulties.

Speaking to the VNA's reporter, Ambassador Duong Hoai Nam emphasised that the Vietnamese Embassy has consistently supported charitable initiatives in the Czech Republic.

He said that this effort not only provides humanitarian aid but also strengthens solidarity and cooperation among ASEAN nations and with the Czech Republic.
