YaPEIM Allocates RM13.5 Mln For 293 Housing Projects Nationwide

JOHOR BAHRU, Feb 15 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YaPEIM) has allocated RM13.5 million to build and repair 293 homes across Malaysia through its Sinar Lestari programme since 2020.

As of January this year, 199 projects have been completed, with 94 more ongoing.

In a statement today, YaPEIM also reported that from 1985 to 2024, it has distributed RM710 million to 10 million recipients, focusing on economic development, entrepreneurship, education and community programmes.

Earlier at the Santuni MADANI YaPEIM event in Labis, Segamat, officiated by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar, YaPEIM also distributed RM316,000 in aid to the needy in Johor, through its community development project (PPKY) and Sinar Lestari programme.

This includes RM150,000 for various community development initiatives, RM20,000 in financial aid to 200 schoolchildren, RM10,000 in food baskets for 100 families, RM500 each in disaster relief cash aid for 10 families and RM5,000 donation to Bandar Labis Mosque.

Additionally, RM90,000 was also channelled for the renovation of three business premises in collaboration with the Johor State Development Office and the Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister's Department, and another RM20,000 for community events.

Under the Sinar Lestari programme, YAPEIM also provided two homes to poor families in Muar and Kulai, involving an allocation of RM166,000.
