KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 16 (Bernama) -- The Terengganu Hockey Team (THT) reclaimed the Malaysia Hockey League (MHL) title in style when they trounced Australia's Territory Stingers 4-1 in the final league match at Pitch 2 of the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil here today.

Today's win sees THT in seventh heaven, having won the crown in the 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2022 and 2023 editions. Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) won the League crown last year.

In the THT-Territory Stingers match today, prolific hitman Faizal Saari was the hero for the Terengganu side as he hammered home all four goals (14th, 24th, 32th, 33rd minutes) for a ninth straight - and final - win.

"Alhamdulillah, our players were all up for it today and were well prepared mentally and physically. This match allowed us to make amends for last season's disappointment (of losing the league title to TNB).

"Our players did well to capitalise on the chances created and they played all out today to make sure we regained the league title,” said THT head coach Mohd Harfizi Baharom.

He also described lifting the league crown as the best tonic for his team as they turn their attention to the TNB Cup next week.

For the record, THT also bagged the 2025 Charity Shield from arch-enemy TNB, who captured a treble last season (Charity Shield, TNB Cup and League title).
