SEREMBAN, Feb 20 (Bernama) -- Police raided an illegal drug processing laboratory around Nilai on Monday with a total value of RM3.2 million in seized property.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yusoff said the raid, carried out by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department, the state contingent and the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division of the Nilai district police headquarters, also seized various equipment and liquid chemicals suspected of being used to process drugs.
He said in the raid, police arrested two local men and three foreigners aged between 27 and 38.
"As a result of the raid, the police seized drugs believed to be cocaine weighing an estimated 2,145 grammes, worth RM429,000, as well as various types of powder and liquid chemicals along with electrical equipment suspected of processing drugs," he said in a statement here today.
He said the raid also seized four vehicles, cash worth RM66,830, various foreign currencies worth an estimated RM29,822.70, various types of jewellery and watches worth RM477,773.73, making the total seizure RM2,777,426.43
Ahmad Dzaffir said the action was taken in accordance with the Dangerous Drugs (Forfeiture of Property) Act 1988.
Meanwhile, he said the results of initial urine screening tests on all suspects found that one local suspect and one foreigner tested positive for methamphetamine and benzo and both have criminal and drug records.
All suspects were remanded for seven days from Feb 18 to Feb 24 and the case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and Section 15(1)(α) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
