KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 21 (Bernama) -- AEON Bank is pioneering an enhanced customer experience for digital banking with the introduction of "Neko Missions”, an innovative gamification-based stamp programme.
In a statement today, AEON Bank said Neko Missions is designed to enhance customer engagement and elevate their overall banking experience during their daily transactions. The new feature was developed to promote greater synergy with AEON’s wider ecosystem, namely merchant partners such as ZUS Coffee and Tealive.
It said that AEON Bank’s effort to promote cashless transactions is also supported by PayNet via the Neko Missions DuitNow QR programme.
AEON Bank (M) Berhad chief executive officer Raja Teh Maimunah Raja Abdul Aziz said Neko Missions infuses fun into daily payment and shopping activities, making cashless financial habits more dynamic.
"We aim to elevate the mobile banking experience for our customers by optimising it as a medium of engagement between customers and their favourite F&B or retail brands,” she said in the statement.
The new Neko Missions aims to spark joy by introducing exciting rewards in customers’ everyday digital payment. Neko Missions’ virtual stamps, called Neko Paws, can be collected via AEON Bank app by clicking on the ‘Rewards’ icon and completing the Neko Missions.
The current Neko Missions features AEON’s retail star tenant, ZUS Coffee, as well as PayNet’s DuitNow. From now until March 31, 2025, for every Neko Missions x DuitNow QR transaction of RM20 and above, customers can collect one Neko Paw, limited to two per day.
A set of 10 Neko Paws can be redeemed into 1,000 AEON Points (worth RM5) via AEON Bank app.
Meanwhile, PayNet's senior director of commercial, Azrul Fakhzan Mainor, said the strategic collaboration with AEON Bank enhances Malaysia's digital payments landscape by delivering a seamless, secure and rewarding digital payment experience.
"With Neko Missions, we are integrating incentives into everyday transactions, encouraging more Malaysians to embrace cashless payments while enjoying meaningful rewards,” he said.
For Neko Missions x ZUS Coffee, from now until May 31, 2025, customers just need to use their AEON Bank Debit Card-i to pay for their ZUS Coffee (minimum purchase of RM7) and they will be entitled to earn one Neko Paw. Upon collection of six Neko Paws, the rewards can be redeemed via the ZUS Coffee app.
The statement said the next Neko Missions will offer rewards through synergy with retail partners such as myAEON2Go, AEON Fantasy, Tealive and Sisters Crispy Popiah.
On top of that, customers are also encouraged to use their AEON Bank Visa Debit Card-i to pay for both in-store purchases and online shopping, so that they can earn more AEON Points which are redeemable into cash value via the AEON Bank app.
Customers can participate in the AEON Bank Share-Share Lah Referral Programme by referring friends or family to open an AEON Bank Savings Account-i to earn 1,800 AEON Points worth RM9 for each successful referral.
The statement said AEON Bank is steadfast in its commitment to provide a wider demographic of Malaysians with accessible, secure and Syariah-compliant digital banking products and services.
It will continue to connect digital financial solutions with lifestyle offerings through its Neko Missions and AEON Points loyalty programme, making digital banking more dynamic.
