Monsta To Air New Ramadan Daily Micro-series ‘papa Pipi: Terpaling Puasa’

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 (Bernama) -- Local animation studio Monsta, renowned creator of multiple family-friendly and award-winning intellectual properties (IPs) that have entertained viewers worldwide is set to launch a new daily micro-series, Papa Pipi: Terpaling Puasa, which will air throughout the month of Ramadan.

Its marketing director, Faiz Zainal Aabidin said the special series will feature the beloved father-daughter characters alongside famed Malaysian comedian Bell Ngasri. The micro-series will air daily at 6 pm across Monsta’s digital platforms, including YouTube, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram.

He said this micro-series marks an exclusive collaboration with Bell Ngasri, who is well-known for his on-screen association with ‘Geng Plastik Hitam’ during Ramadan, a term used to describe people who secretly buy food and hide it in black plastic bags to avoid being caught for not fasting.

“Bell lends his voice to Pali, a friendly yet mischievous animated character who often seeks excuses to skip fasting and is known for being ‘the most’ in everything he does,” he said in a statement today.

The series will offer a heartwarming and comedic look into Papa Pipi and his family’s daily life as they run a stall at a Ramadan bazaar, providing a lighthearted view of their interactions.

A special song titled Terpaling Puasa, performed by Papa Pipi, will also feature throughout the series. The lively track is expected to showcase the many facets of fasting, blending entertainment with meaningful reflections on the spiritual essence of Ramadan.

“We created this micro-series to bring the cherished moments of Ramadan closer to families. We also believe short-form content is more engaging, shareable and better suited for social media consumption,” Faiz added.

With a family-friendly approach, Monsta hopes to brighten the Ramadan season for audiences with this relaxed and accessible content.
