KUALA LUMPUR, March 4 (Bernama) -- Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming had a Ramadan pre-dawn meal (sahur) with 108 firefighters at the Jalan Hang Tuah Fire and Rescue Station here early today.
The Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT) said Nga arrived at the fire station at 5 am and was welcomed by Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) director-general Datuk Nor Hisham Mohammad and on-duty officers.
“Nga, also known as ‘Abang Kor Meng,’ helped prepare omelettes, lamb curry, Arabic bread, and teh tarik as sahur dishes for the firefighters on duty at the station.
“The visit was a gesture of appreciation and solidarity from the MADANI government towards the ‘Red Warriors’ nationwide. The dedication, service, and sacrifices of firefighters are always remembered by the country’s multiracial society,” it said in a statement.
In his speech, Nga also expressed his gratitude to JBPM personnel and volunteer firefighters for their unwavering service, especially in the lead-up to this year’s Aidilfitri celebrations.
