France Speeds Up Arms Deliveries To Ukraine

PARIS, March 9 (Bernama-dpa) -- France is accelerating the delivery of military equipment and ammunition to Ukraine as US aid remains suspended, Defence Minister Sébastien Lecornu said in an interview with La Tribune Dimanche published on Sunday, reported German news agency (dpa).  

To speed up support, the French military is transferring older equipment, including AMX-10RC tanks and armoured personnel carriers.

Additionally, France will allocate a new €195 million (US$211 million) aid package this year, funded by interest from frozen Russian assets.

The package will provide 155 mm artillery shells and AASM missiles, which are used by the Mirage 2000 fighter jets that France began supplying to Ukraine in February.
