NEW DELHI, March 12 (Bernama) -- Tan Sri Othman Hashim, ASEAN's special envoy on Myanmar, called on Bangladesh's Adviser for Foreign Affairs Mohammad Touhid Hossain in Dhaka on Tuesday.
Othman sought Bangladesh's "views, insights and comments" on the Myanmar conflict and Rohingya refugees, according to a Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement.
Bangladesh hosts more than one million forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals in the Cox's Bazar area.
The growing civil war in Myanmar is making the humanitarian situation worse.
Hossain sought urgent action "to prepare a comprehensive Rohingya repatriation roadmap" involving Myanmar, ASEAN members, the United Nations, and donor countries, the ministry said.
It said Othman conveyed ASEAN's strong commitment to resolve the crisis.
Othman, a former secretary general of the Malaysian Foreign Ministry, was appointed as the Southeast Asian group's special envoy on the war-torn Myanmar in January.
