KUANTAN, July 6 (Bernama) -- The Pahang Palace has refuted the authenticity of a fake video generated using artificial intelligence (AI) that features a likeness of the Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, purportedly offering assistance to the public.
In a statement, the Palace emphasised that the video, circulated via several TikTok accounts, is false and constitutes a misuse of His Royal Highness’ image for fraudulent and deceptive purposes.
“The public is advised not to share the video, believe any links or information it contains, and to report any suspicious content to the authorities immediately,” read a post on the official Facebook page of the Pahang Sultanate.
The Palace further clarified that Al-Sultan Abdullah does not operate any personal social media accounts. All official updates or royal pronouncements are published solely through the verified Pahang Sultanate Facebook page, which has around 725,000 followers.
Other platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, and X only carry the name of the Pahang Sultanate, while the official website of the Pahang Palace is istanapahang.my.
