KUALA LUMPUR, July 9 (Bernama) -- The final phase of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) is currently being actively fine-tuned to ensure that the rural development agenda remains a priority and is allocated appropriate funding said Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He said that a meeting was held with a delegation from the Ministry of Economy, led by Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, to discuss the matter.
On June 27, it was announced that Amir Hamzah has been given the responsibility of carrying out the duties and functions of the Minister of Economy.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, said the 13MP, which will be presented soon, is set to become a key catalyst for national development, addressing the needs of people from all walks of life.
“This includes rural communities, the TVET agenda, the halal industry, and disaster management, which are among the pillars of the nation's strength and prosperity.
“Insya-Allah, everything discussed today will be thoroughly studied, to formulate policies which are truly impactful, inclusive, sustainable, and people-centric,” he said in a Facebook post.
