KOTA BHARU, July 13 (Bernama) -- A total of 200 players are expected to take part in the 48th Kelantan Amateur Golf Open Championship, which will be held at the Kelantan Golf & Country Club (KGCC) in Pengkalan Chepa here from July 26 to 28.
State Tourism, Culture, Arts and Heritage Committee chairman Datuk Kamarudin Md Nor said the tournament serves as a platform to promote the state's tourism sector, particularly to players from outside Kelantan.
“Although this is a small-scale tournament, it still has a significant impact in showcasing local tourism products,” he said at a press conference at KGCC today.
He said prizes include a Perodua car, an e-bicycle, Garmin and Huawei golf watches and RM5,000 in cash.
Kamarudin also expressed hope that the players would act as "mini ambassadors" in promoting the state's tourism to their peers after the tournament.
