Sean Paul Sets The Stage Ablaze At Idea Live Arena

PETALING JAYA, Oct 12 (Bernama) -- Jamaican dancehall music icon and rapper Sean Paul’s concert at Idea Live Arena here on Friday attracted some 6,000 people from diverse backgrounds and age groups ranging from their 20s to 60s.

Even before the 52-year-old Grammy-winning artiste, who last performed in Malaysia seven years ago, appeared on stage, the atmosphere was already electrified with reggae and dancehall tunes that had the crowd dancing and cheering in anticipation.

Adding to the weekend “festive” mood, the arena was filled with fans dressed mostly in dark tones.

Sean kicked off his performance at 8.48 PM with his hit songs ‘So Fine’ and ‘Get Busy’. The audience eagerly captured the moment on their phones as he appeared on stage dressed in white pants, black T-shirt and white jacket.

“What’s up Malaysia? Make some noise! Hey yo… people say my music is big here, so thank you very much,” he shouted, exuding the charisma that has cemented his reputation as one of the world’s leading dancehall icons.

Throughout the one-hour show, his fans were treated to more than 20 of his biggest hits, including ‘Temperature’, ‘No Lie’, ‘She Doesn’t Mind’, ‘Rockabye’ and ‘Cheap Thrills’.

Sean’s energy never wavered as he delivered each song with his signature flair, enhanced by dazzling stage lights.

The cheers grew louder as his hit songs from the 2000s echoed through the arena, reminding fans of the golden era of dancehall that once dominated global charts.

However, the concert ended all too soon for many, who hoped he would return for an encore.

In one spontaneous moment, Sean tossed two of his white T-shirts into the crowd, sparking excitement among fans in the front rows.

Despite some opinions that the venue’s sound system could be improved to better accommodate large audiences, the concert left a lasting impression on the audience.
