KOTA BHARU, Oct 13 (Bernama) -- Firemen arrived at the scene in three minutes flat but it was too late to save three wooden houses from a blaze that broke out at Kampung Sri Periuk in Tumpat this evening.
A spokesman for the Kelantan Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said they received a call regarding the fire at 5.37 pm before deploying a team which arrived at the village three minutes later.
"Three engines with 16 personnel arrived at the scene at 5.40 pm, only to find that three semi-permanent houses with wooden structures which were built close together were 90 per cent destroyed.
"However, all the occupants of the houses, with an estimated total area of 120 square feet, managed to escape and no injuries were recorded," he said when contacted today.
