KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 14 (Bernama) -- Newly-crowned mixed doubles world champions Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei kicked off their 2025 Denmark Open campaign in convincing fashion to book a place in the second round in Odense, today.
The fourth seeds did not have much problem to go past Taiwan’s Yang Po-Hsuan-Hu Ling Fang of Taiwan 21-15, 21-9 in 31-minutes during the Super 750 tournament held in Jyske Bank Arena, Odense.
In the second round, Tang Jie-Ee Wei will meet Gao Jia Xuan-Wu Meng Ying after the Chinese duo survived a rubber set duel against Thailand’s Phuwanat Horbanluekit-Benyapa Aimsaard 21-12, 13-21, 21-17.
Earlier, professional mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie also made it to the second round as they eliminated Taiwan’s Ming Che Lu-Hung En-Tzu 21-14, 21-17.
The eighth seeds will be up against either home pair Jesper Toft-Amalie Magelund or Yuichi Shimogami-Sayaka Hobara of Japan, next.
