Children’s Theatre ‘Di Mana Putra’ To Captivate Audience In Kelantan This Friday And Saturday

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, through the Kelantan National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN), will bring to the stage a theatre performance titled Di Mana Putra at the Kelantan JKKN Complex Auditorium this Friday and Saturday.

In a statement, JKKN said the performance, organised in collaboration with Persatuan Anak Seni Pendidikan Kelantan (ASPEK), Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) Eastern Region and the Kelantan State Education Department, will see 65 actors of different ages, races and backgrounds take the stage.

“Following the success of the Karya Agung: Tok Janggut ‘13 Liang’ performance in 2024, ASPEK has once again stepped forward with a new children’s theatre piece, Di Mana Putra by Lamia Aimal,” it said.

According to the statement, Di Mana Putra features a unique blend of animated characters and iconic figures such as Captain Jack Sparrow, Peter Pan, Tok Kenali and Sergeant Che Hassan (Tok Janggut) in a simple yet entertaining storyline, especially for children.

“The production also carries a message of harmony and noble values. Its two-hour storytelling remains appealing through interactive participation between the actors and the audience.

“The outstanding performance by the local cast, coupled with the creative vision of director Aqil Rozai, a graduate of the National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage (ASWARA), gives the production a fresh and distinctive touch,” said the statement.

According to JKKN, the audience will also stand a chance to win lucky draw prizes and the Best Costume Award, which will be selected by the production team.

The department said the production will enhance the standing of local theatre while supporting efforts to promote cultural activities as tourism products for Kelantan.

The event will also be attended by Kelantan Tourism, Culture, Arts and Heritage Committee chairman Datuk Kamarudin Md Nor and JKKN deputy director-general (Culture and Arts Sector) Mohd Radzi Omar.
