KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16 (Bernama) -- Global credit rating agency, AM Best announced it will lead a session, sponsor and exhibit at the inaugural Thailand Reinsurance Conference, taking place from Oct 30 to Nov 1 in Bangkok.
Initiated by the Thai General Insurance Association, the conference aims to provide meaningful insights into the insurance markets of Thailand and the ASEAN region, while reinforcing Thailand's position as a regional hub for insurance and reinsurance.
AM Best’s Singapore operations managing director and chief executive officer, Rob Curtis will lead a session on Oct 31 titled, “The changing market development dynamics across Asia & Thailand”. The session will explore the implications of these shifts for counterparty credit risk.
In a statement, AM Best said the session will also cover risk and capital developments, rating scales and how the credit rating agency evaluates relevant factors that influence ratings, including balance sheet strength, operating performance, company profile and enterprise risk management.
Curtis, who joined AM Best since 2022, brings extensive experience in Asia’s insurance markets. His previous roles include leadership positions at the Hong Kong Insurance Authority, KPMG, and the International Association of Insurance Supervisors.
As a corporate partner of the Thailand Reinsurance Conference, AM Best will also host a booth at the event. Delegates can engage with representatives to learn more about AM Best’s offerings, including its Credit Ratings and Performance Assessments for Delegated Underwriting Authority Enterprises (DUAE).
