PM Wishes Happy Deepavali, Calls For Unity And Progress

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today extended Deepavali greetings to all Hindus in Malaysia.

He expressed hope that this year’s festival would stand as a symbol of Malaysians coming together in the spirit of progress, enlightenment and justice, while casting aside darkness and oppression.

“May Deepavali bring light and happiness to Malaysian families,” he said in his video message in conjunction with Deepavali.

Deepavali, also known as the Festival of Lights, will be celebrated tomorrow.
