SEPANG, Oct 25 (Bernama) -- Young Malaysian rider Muhammad Hakim Danish Ramli's desire to start on the front row of the 2025 Malaysian MotoGP Grand Prix (GP) Moto3 class championship was not met after finishing Qualifying Session 2 (Q2) in 14th place at the Sepang International Circuit today.

The 18-year-old rider was competing on a wildcard ticket for the Aeon Credit SIC Racing team which had previously achieved sixth position in Free Practice Session 2 (FP2) with a time of 2 minutes 10.576 seconds (s) but recorded a slower time of 2:11.487s.

Leopard Racing rider David Almansa took first place after clocking 2:09.846s followed by Honda Team Asia rider Taiyo Furusato (2:09.940s).

Meanwhile, the champion for the 2025 season, Jose Antonio Rueda representing Red Bull KTM Ajo was in third place (2:10.076s).

Muhammad Hakim Danish admitted that he made a few mistakes and almost crashed during the qualifying session, but is still determined to give his best in tomorrow's race even though he admits it is more challenging than the JuniorGP and Red Bull Rookies Cup.

"In the qualifying session earlier, I made a few mistakes and almost crashed but I was able to handle it well. I am trying to improve my position and time.

"Tomorrow's race will definitely be difficult but I will still try," he told reporters after today's qualifying session.

Meanwhile, two national wildcard riders in the Moto2 class, Azroy Hakeem Anuar and Muhammad Helmi Azman from Petronas MIE Racing RW will start the race in 29th and last place respectively.
