KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 28 (Bernama) -- National men’s doubles pair Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun lived up to expectations by advancing to the second round of the Hylo Open 2025 after overcoming their compatriots Yap Roy King-Wan Arif Wan Junaidi in a hard-fought opening match in Saarbrucken, Germany, tonight.
The world number five displayed resilience and composure to secure a 21-16, 19-21, 21-16 victory in a 53-minute encounter.
Their triumph came as another national pair, Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi, suffered a 16-21, 17-21 defeat to the Indonesian duo Leo Rolly Carnando-Bagas Maulana.
Wei Chong-Kai Wun are scheduled to face Leo Rolly-Bagas Maulana in the second round.
Meanwhile, the country’s top two men’s doubles Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik and Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani are expected to take to the court early tomorrow morning.
