Fahmi Extends Condolences Over Passing Of Istana Budaya’s Conductor Mohd Yazid Zakaria

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 (Bernama) -- Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has extended his condolences to the family of Mohd Yazid Zakaria, conductor of the Malaysian Traditional Orchestra at Istana Budaya, following his passing today.

He described the late Mohd Yazid Zakaria as a gem, and a devoted, dedicated, and respected leader in the arts.

“I am deeply saddened by the news of Mohd Yazid’s passing this morning. He had led the orchestra during the ASEAN Gala Dinner just two days ago.

“His loss is deeply felt. On behalf of the Communications Ministry, I extend my condolences to the Allahyarham’s family. Let us all pray that his soul may be blessed and placed among the faithful. Al-Fatihah,” he said in a Facebook post.

Mohd Yazid Zakaria was named the Tokoh Pekerja Negara for Public Service in conjunction with the 2024 Workers’ Day celebration.
