KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 (Bernama) -- An atmosphere of anxiety swept through a well-known hotel in the capital this morning when a ventilation blower in a restaurant at the premises caught fire.
According to the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Operations Centre, it received an emergency call about the incident at 10.21 am today, prompting the dispatch of a fire engine and four personnel from the Pudu Fire and Rescue Station to the scene.
“Upon arrival, the team found that the fire involved a Japanese restaurant on the second floor, where a 5x5-square-foot ventilation blower was about 25 per cent damaged by fire,” it said in a statement today.
No casualties were reported, and the blaze was fully extinguished by 11.15 am. The cause of the fire and the estimated losses are still under investigation.
