KUANTAN, Nov 2 (Bernama) -- Pahang is set for economic growth and new employment opportunities following the development of a RM600 million super magnet manufacturing facility project in the state.
Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the high-impact project has the potential to attract both domestic and international investors, thereby contributing to economic spillovers that will benefit the local population.
“I welcome the (super magnet facility) because with fresh investments, we can generate jobs. More people will be employed, drawing more talent to Pahang,” he said.
He told reporters this after representing Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at a meet-and-greet session with Kuantan Industry Players at the Advanced Technology Training Centre (ADTEC) here today.
Wan Rosdy said further discussions on the project’s progress would be held with the federal government.
“The state government will also provide its input and views related to this industry,” he added.
It was reported yesterday that JS Link and Lynas Malaysia will develop a super magnet facility in Pahang, a project described as bolstering Malaysia’s role and opening downstream prospects in the rare-earth sector.
