SEREMBAN, Nov 4 (Bernama) -- Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun has requested the Malaysian Football League (MFL) to consider re-scheduling the match between Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) and Terengganu FC on Nov 22 to kick off at night instead of 5 pm as scheduled.
Aminuddin, who is also NSFC chairman, said the decision to hold the match in the afternoon at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi, affects fan attendance at the stadium as most spectators work during the day.
He emphasised that as the home team, Negeri Sembilan should be given flexibility to determine a suitable match time to ensure strong attendance and support of fans on home ground.
"We are well aware that Negeri Sembilan is actually not ready to hold matches during the day because it will lose many spectators. Most fans are working and find it hard to attend a 5 pm match.
"I hope this matter will be reviewed. Negeri Sembilan as the host should be allowed to compete at the appropriate time, even at 10 pm. This is crucial to give fans the chance to come and cheer the team,” he said after officiating the Negeri Sembilan Innovation Appreciation Ceremony here today.
At the start of this season's Super League, NSFC's home matches have consistently drawn thousands to each game.
NSFC, led by head coach Mohd Nidzam Jamil, are currently showing an improved run compared to previous seasons. It is currently placed sixth in the Super League with 12 points.
