09/11/2025 06:31 PM

SHAH ALAM, Nov 9 (Bernama) -- A video circulating on social media that appeared to show a robbery arrest in Klang has been confirmed by police as a simulated hot-pursuit exercise.

Klang Utara police chief ACP S. Vijaya Rao said the exercise, conducted yesterday at around 10 am, aimed to assess the readiness and effectiveness of the Mobile Patrol Vehicle Unit (MPV), Motorcycle Patrol Unit (URB) and the district control centre in pursuit scenarios.

“The exercise involved coordination with the Control Centre Branch of the Internal Security and Public Order Division, Klang Utara district police headquarters (IPD). Two senior officers and 26 personnel took part directly in the simulation,” he said in a statement today.

ACP Vijaya Rao urged the public not to share videos or posts that could cause anxiety, warning that offenders could face action under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

The viral video had suggested that police had detained a suspect following a gold shop robbery and attempted escape in Aman Perdana, Klang.
