PUTRAJAYA, Nov 10 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Sabah has set up its operations room to facilitate the public in channeling information or lodging complaints on any alleged corruption or abuse of power during the state polls.
According to the commission, the operations rooms will be open around the clock, from today until Dec 5.
The operations rooms can be contacted at the following numbers: MACC Kota Kinabalu Office (017-8478740 / 088-488381); MACC Sandakan Office (089-668746 / 011-18669877); and MACC Tawau Office (089-772743).
Other operations rooms include the MACC Lahad Datu Office (089-868769) and the MACC Keningau Office (087-336761 / 016-5771521).
“The public can also channel complaints related to corruption and abuse of power via email, at prnsabah@sprm.gov.my,” said MACC in a statement.
MACC also reminded all candidates and political parties contesting the election not to engage in any activities that contravene the law or election regulations, in line with the provisions of the MACC Act 2009 and the Election Offences Act 1954.
The Election Commission (EC) has set Nov 29 as polling day for the 17th Sabah state election.
EC chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun said that the nomination date has been fixed for Nov 15, while early voting will take place on Nov 25.
