I Have Never Avoided Opposition's Questions In Dewan Rakyat - PM Anwar

11/11/2025 11:40 AM

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 11 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stressed that he has never avoided answering any questions raised by opposition Members of Parliament in the Dewan Rakyat.

Anwar said all questions directed at him during the Minister’s Question Time (MQT) every Tuesday, reserved for the Prime Minister, had been addressed, either by himself or the relevant ministers.

However, he noted that some MPs continue to repeat the same questions, even though explanations have already been given several times.

“I answer all the questions raised... if anyone claims I’m avoiding them, I’m not avoiding. Ask me any question, I will not avoid it,” he said before answering questions during the MQT session in the Dewan Rakyat today.

Earlier, before the MQT session began, Perikatan Nasional’s Chief Whip Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan (PN-Kota Bharu) questioned why today’s list of questions did not include any from the opposition.

Dewan Rakyat speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul later clarified that the selection of questions for the MQT session is subject to his discretion.

He also revealed that for today’s MQT list, the opposition had only submitted one question, while the government bloc submitted eight. Moreover, the opposition’s question was a repeat

“I have reviewed all the questions, and I found that the opposition's questions had already been answered. There is no issue of bias between the government and the opposition,” he said.

Johari further added that the opposition's questions would be discussed in detail by the relevant Select Committee (JKPK), which will be attended by ministers and senior government officials tomorrow.
