ISKANDAR PUTERI, Nov 13 (Bernama) -- The Johor government today announced a special incentive of two months' salary to state civil servants as a token of appreciation for their efforts and dedication.

Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said a special incentive of RM500 each would also be given to 140,185 federal civil servants serving in the state, with an allocation of RM70.1 million.

"This is the first time in history that the state government has announced special incentives to federal civil servants," he said when tabling the Johor Budget 2026 in Kota Iskandar here.

He said the incentives would be disbursed in full in December.

Onn Hafiz said media practitioners registered with the Johor Media Club (KMJ) would receive RM1,000 each through the Bantuan Kasih Johor (BKJ) initiative from an allocation of RM200,000.

"This will be channelled through two payment phases, in December and February 2026," he said.

Meanwhile, KMJ president Mohamad Fauzi Ishak said in a statement that the special incentive made Johor the first state to announce an allocation for media practitioners in the presentation of the state budget.
