KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 14 (Bernama) – A total of 72 police personnel from the Kuala Lumpur Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) participated in abseiling and repelling training to enhance their tactical proficiency and foster teamwork in addressing various operational challenges.

Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief Datuk Mohd Azani Omar said the training, which commenced last Tuesday, took place at the Sri Petaling Fire and Rescue Station (BPP) in collaboration with the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM).

“The training aims to develop team spirit, courage, discipline, and self-confidence, which are essential qualities for every police officer.

“The skills gained are vital for real-world operations, particularly in specialised tasks such as hostage rescue, tactical operations in high-altitude areas, and emergency situations that demand swift and precise actions,” he said during the closing ceremony at the Sri Petaling BPP here today.

He added that the training successfully strengthened inter-agency collaboration, particularly between the police (PDRM) and JBPM.
