KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 22 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia International Healthcare (MIH) Megatrends 2025, set to take place in Kuala Lumpur from this Tuesday, will provide a platform for strategic collaboration in building a resilient and sustainable healthcare system.

The global conference, organised by the Ministry of Health (MOH) Malaysia in collaboration with KPJ Healthcare Berhad, will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) and will bring together healthcare experts and leaders from the United Kingdom, the United States, Belgium, South Korea, the Netherlands, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and Malaysia.

In a statement, KPJ Healthcare said the three-day event would focus on healthcare service reform, exploring ways to develop a more effective healthcare delivery system.

"The programme will focus on sustainability, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and public health, addressing the need for long-term solutions that strengthen prevention, improve healthcare quality, and support a more resilient healthcare system.

“This will position Malaysia as an emerging hub for regional health dialogues," the statement read.

Themed “Innovating for a Healthier, Sustainable Future”, KPJ Healthcare noted that this theme reflects the growing global demand to strengthen preparedness, cost-efficiency, and long-term resilience in healthcare systems facing multiple challenges.

MIH 2025 marks a significant milestone in Malaysia’s healthcare reform journey, as outlined in the Health White Paper.

Key sessions at the conference include cross-disciplinary forums covering topics such as AI-enabled personalised medicine, value-based healthcare, oncology innovations, climate and health governance, digital ethics, neuroscience, and sustainable system planning.

“These sessions will focus on how healthcare systems can respond to demographic changes, rising chronic diseases, environmental pressures, and rapid technological developments. They will also promote more integrated, patient-centred care models,” the statement added.

The event will also feature the MIH Innovation Exhibition, showcasing the latest medical technologies, diagnostic tools, digital platforms, sustainable practices, and new approaches to professional training.

The final day of MIH 2025 will be open to the public. Registration and programme details can be accessed at www.mihmegatrends.my.

Notable experts attending include director of The Medical Futurist Institute, Dr Bertalan Mesko, neuroscientist Dr Boris Konrad from Radboud University Medical Centre (Netherlands), and molecular oncology and digital health specialist Prof Dr Koen Kas from Belgium, among others.
