KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 23 (Bernama) -- A total of 130 high-achieving Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) students from the Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency who succeeded in pursuing studies at institutions of higher learning (IPT) have received education assistance amounting to RM50,750.
Sungai Buloh MP Datuk Seri R Ramanan in a Facebook post said that of the total, RM38,500 was contributed by Bank Rakyat while the remaining RM12,250 was his personal contribution.
“Due to my work schedule in Sabah, I was unable to join them today, but I managed to speak with the students via video call and I delegated my senior private secretary, Firdaus Farid, to attend the programme on my behalf.
“Congratulations to all the Sungai Buloh students for their outstanding achievements,” he said in the post.
The PKR vice-president said the programme implemented with Bank Rakyat and Yayasan Bank Rakyat in Sungai Buloh since 2024 included SPM excellent student incentives, school and schooling assistance incentives; Back to School assistance, and the Rakyat Tuition Programme
He said that since 2024, Bank Rakyat and Yayasan Bank Rakyat had channelled nearly RM1.2 million to more than 4,000 recipients comprising students, families and the underprivileged from various communities in the Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency.
“Thank you to Bank Rakyat and Yayasan Bank Rakyat for the strong cooperation with the Sungai Buloh Parliamentary Service Centre.
“Such efforts continue to uplift the future of our children and strengthen the well-being of the people,” he said.
