KOTA KINABALU, Nov 24 (Bernama) -- Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) has urged all early voters in the state to take the opportunity to vote tomorrow to determine the direction and future of Sabah.
Sabah BN Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin said that early votes carry the same weight as votes cast on polling day, Nov 29, for the 17th Sabah State Election.
He said that every voter bears a great responsibility in making the best choice for Sabah’s future over the next five years.
“Remember, early votes are equivalent to votes on the 29th. Use the opportunity you have. Keep in mind that it only comes once every five years to change the fate and future of Sabah,” he said in a video uploaded on his official Facebook page today.
Bung Moktar said that although Sabah has achieved over 60 years of independence, the level of development and progress in the state still lags behind other states, and it remains among the least developed and poorest states nationally.
In this regard, Bung Moktar said BN is offering a new chapter to prosper Sabah and assist the people in overcoming poverty through the implementation of agendas outlined in the party’s manifesto.
“Use the power in your hands. Vote for candidates who can elevate Sabah’s status and help the people of Sabah rise from the shackles of poverty. Vote for Barisan Nasional candidates. God willing, we can change the future of the people of Sabah,” he said.
A total of 24,426 early voters are expected to fulfil their duties at 58 early polling centres, which will open simultaneously across the state from 8 am and close in stages.
This state election sees 596 candidates contesting 73 State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats, with 74 of them running as Independents.
The campaign period for the 17th Sabah State Election, which began on Nov 15, will end at 11.59 p.m. on Nov 28.
