JOHOR BAHRU, 24 Nov (Bernama) -- Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, today graced the launch of the Johor Green Development Policy (PPHJ) 2030.
According to a post on Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar’s official Facebook page, the event held at the Tunku Mahkota Ismail Youth Centre (TMIYC) also marked the official opening of the Raja Zarith Sofiah Learning Centre and the Johor Sustainability Centre (JSC).
Che’ Puan Mahkota Khaleeda Johor accompanied Her Majesty during the ceremony. Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Johor State Secretary Datuk Asman Shah Abd Rahman and JSC executive chairman Datuk Hasni Mohammad were also present.
During the event, Her Majesty presented appointment letters to seven members of the JSC Advisory Board and witnessed the signing of three strategic partnerships supporting the state’s green development agenda.
The agreements included a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the Raja Zarith Sofiah Learning Centre between JSC and Saitama City Hall, as well as an MoU on exploring opportunities in Johor’s electric vehicle industry between Permodalan Darul Ta’zim and Yinson Greentech.
A separate collaboration agreement was also signed on the Southern Johor Renewable Energy Corridor (SJREC) between the International Finance Corporation (a World Bank member), Permodalan Darul Ta’zim and Ditrolic Energy.
Meanwhile, Hasni Mohammad said PPHJ 2030 is a strategic policy crafted by the Johor government to strengthen the state’s green development agenda, while the Raja Zarith Sofiah Learning Centre is an initiative to enhance the Bangsa Johor Bahagia Programme inspired by Her Majesty herself.
