KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 (Bernama) -- The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has kicked off its annual "Hong Kong WinterFest", running now through Jan 4, 2026, unveiling a centrepiece collaboration with Hongkong Land, "Winter Wonderland" in Central.

For the first time, eight of Central’s landmark buildings—including Bank of China Tower, Hong Kong City Hall High Block, HSBC Main Building, and Standard Chartered Bank Building—will unite for the "Immersive Light Show in Central", debuting Nov 28. The 3D-projection spectacle transforms the skyline into a cinematic winter storyscape.

According to HKTB in a statement, the show delivers more than a dozen themed vignettes—from angels ushering visitors into a snowy dreamscape to Santa Claus’ sleigh ride, prancing reindeer, and a jubilant dancing snowman.

Highlights include "Boxing Day Bliss", where buildings morph into giant gift boxes, and "Christmas Confections", led by Chef Gingerbread with a cameo by Santa.

Produced by an international creative team, the show uses 4K projection and animations that glide across 30 holospheres and trees to add visual depth. Nine reimagined Christmas classics, including "Santa Claus is Coming to Town", build an immersive audiovisual atmosphere.

By late November, Chater Road will transform into "Starlight Boulevard", illuminated by more than 30 glowing trees and crowned by a 12.5-metre-wide golden Christmas tree installation leading into "Noëlia at LANDMARK" in LANDMARK ATRIUM.

Starting Dec 1, HKTB will partner with the Quality Tourism Services Association and the Hong Kong Retail Management Association to launch WinterFest Delights, offering citywide promotions on dining, shopping, attractions and transport.

A dedicated WinterFest online platform will consolidate festive hotspots and deals to help visitors maximise the holiday season in Hong Kong.
