KOTA KINABALU, Nov 27 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed confidence that the people of Sabah possess a high level of political maturity to choose the best representatives for their respective constituencies in the 17th Sabah State Election this Saturday.
“I hope Sabah makes a wise decision. The people are mature and capable of choosing well. I am here to give them the opportunity (to dialogue) so that the state’s relationship with the Federal government remains strong,” he said.
The Prime Minister made the remarks when met by reporters after attending the public town hall session ‘PMX Sayang Sabah Bersama Pemuda Inanam’, here today.
Anwar, who is also the chairman of Pakatan Harapan (PH), said his two-day visit to the state aimed to provide moral support to all PH candidates contesting in the election.
Earlier, during the session, the Prime Minister emphasised the importance of Sabah’s youth in determining the state’s direction and future by choosing leaders who were responsible and had integrity.
“You are the future. The youth of today will determine the future path. You choose. You want to make Malaysia and Sabah great, or you want to destroy this country. You want to make Malaysia great, then let us work together as a team,” he said.
