Angler Found Drowned After Falling Into River Due To Epileptic Seizure

TANAH MERAH, Dec 2 (Bernama) -- A male angler, 25, was found drowned in a river near Panglima Bayu Mosque here today after he fell into the river here when he suffered an epileptic seizure.

Fire and Rescue opeations commander, Senior Fire Officer Alias Zulkifli said firefighters found the victim in the river after receiving a call about the incident at 3.03 pm.

“Preliminary investigations based on information from the victim’s sibling revealed that the victim suffered an epileptic seizure before falling into the river,” he said in a statement today, adding that the body was handed over to the police for further action.

Meanwhile, the victim’s friend, Ahmad Aris Risqi Lukman Hakim, 15, said the incident happened at about 2.30 pm when the victim was fishing with his 10 year-old sibling.

“The younger sibling ran back home and told their mother that the victim fell into the river and she asked me to help find him and contact the Fire Department.

“We often go fishing at the river, which is about 200 metres from home,” he shared when contacted today.
