Digital Ministry Conducting Mid-Term Review Of Two Digital Policy Framework Documents

02/12/2025 11:14 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 2 (Bernama) -- The government is conducting a Mid-Term Review (MTR) for two key national digital policy framework documents, namely the National Fourth Industrial Revolution Policy (D4IRN) and the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint (RTEDM) 2021–2030, according to the Ministry of Digital.

It said the review is being carried out by taking into account various factors, particularly the aspirations of the MADANI Economy, which are also translated and aligned with the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP).

“In line with 13MP, the Mid-Term Review of the D4IRN and RTEDM outlines the national agenda aimed at strengthening past achievements and elevating the country as a regional artificial intelligence (AI) hub under the MD2030 framework: Towards an AI-Driven Nation,” according to a written reply published on the Parliament website today.

The ministry was responding to a question from Senator Michael Mujah Lihan, who wanted to know how the national digital policies are being aligned with the MADANI Economy policy and the Malaysia Digital Economy Master Plan (MyDigital).

The Ministry of Digital also stated that the frameworks being developed take into account factors contributing to achieving the targets set by 13MP, namely increasing the digital economy’s contribution to gross domestic product to 30 per cent.

Meanwhile, the ministry also said that overall, every policy and implementation under RTEDM—which forms MyDigital—as well as D4IRN is comprehensively integrated with the MADANI Economy policy.

“This policy alignment not only ensures continuity in the country’s digital transformation direction but also strengthens Malaysia’s capability to emerge as an AI Nation by 2030,” it said.
